90% of all golfers are playing  golf clubs that have not been  fitted or are fitted incorrectly.

Golf is tough enough, but with clubs that don't fit properly, you're making it more difficult than it should be.

Trial-and-Error Based "Custom Fitting" of Length and Lie Angle

Most players have been “custom fit” using swing-based methods. Players are put on a lie board or a launch monitor and make a series of swings. Most golfers’ swing motions possess flaws and are inconsistent; fitting a player in this manner handicaps them, as the flaws present that day are incorporated into the fit. Fitters employ this trial-and-error process, continuously switching or adjusting the club until something accidentally works better. This limits the player’s ability to improve as the fit only works when the flaws are present.

Avian Golf's Dimensional Fitting Technology

Through 45 years of research and analysis we have developed a revolutionary process that doesn’t involve the need to see any swings to determine a golfer’s optimal length and lie angle. Avian Golf’s Dimensional fitting algorithm factors your physical measurements proportionally as well as dynamically. Our process begins with your physical measurements. Next, these measurements are entered into our proprietary algorithm which factors them for proportional change, this allows the golfer to get into an optimum balanced setup position. Lastly, the algorithm calculates the dynamic forces that occur as a result of the swing motion. Dynamic changes that happen to the body and the club through motion are calculated and incorporated into your fitting solution. This is a scientifically proven way to fit that is based on actual measurements. This method creates an environment of sustainable improvement facilitating a biomechanically efficient swing motion. Experience the difference!

Having clubs that fit you correctly is crucial to your performance.

While club design and quality are important, they are irrelevant if the club length and lie angle  (size) does not fit you correctly.  Poorly fit clubs reinforce swing flaws and lead to the formation of bad habits. Clubs with your correct length and lie angle (size) facilitate a biomechanically efficient swing motion, resulting in a tighter dispersion pattern and consistent contact. Your best effort becomes your best result.

Today’s Fitting Methods

Swing-Based Fitting Methods

  • Fit must be completed in person
  • Results are trial and error based, subjective
  • Flaws in the swing effect the fit. The fit only functions “properly” when said flaws are present
  • Inconsistency in swing motion, which swing do you choose?
  • Handicaps golfers into the current flaws their motions possess
  • Improvement is difficult
  • New golfers cannot be fitted effectively this way

Our Dimensional Fitting Method

  • Anyone, anywhere can be fitted correctly
  • Results are fact based, objective
  • Fit is based on your physical dimensions, not your swing motion
  • Fit calculates for proportional change (Standing to Address)
  • Fit calculates for dynamic forces generated by the swing motion (Address to Impact)
  • Fit allows for proper swing motion
  • Fit facilitates sustainable improvement

My best golf years are in the rear view mirror having played golf professionally at a high level and now teaching the game at a high level as a PGA Member. My custom golf clubs from the mad scientist Jay Turner have given me back that feeling when I hit the golf ball. I can feel the sound of the strike again.  My clubs are fit to me and only me.  As a teacher, I believe that when a student’s clubs fit properly they will maximize their potential! In Jay I Trust!

I had a great experience here. Jay, the owner, was very helpful and informative. It was apparent within a few seconds that he knew what he was talking about and was the guy I needed to see. After getting measured with his custom program, it was suggested that I change a few things about my current set of clubs. I got the work done he suggested and the difference is night and day!

I felt the need to write this review after a great experience getting my clubs re-fit at Jeffmont (also known as Redbird). One year ago I had a "custom fit" experience from another prominent outlet in the Seattle area, and although some of the technology helped me get where I needed to be, ultimately, my irons were fit incorrectly. The irons were too long, and after visiting my golf instructor, he advised me to see Jay at Jeffmont to get it done right. The result of the bad fit was causing me to get up on my toes and not drive through the ball properly. After going through Jeffmont's proprietary fitting system, we looked at each individual club and the re-fit began. Jeffmont was very accommodating with me, as I really could not afford to get into new clubs again, so they made every effort to retro-fit my current set. After a few weeks of working with the clubs, I have never been happier with the results I'm seeing, with better accuracy across the board. The contact I'm making now is cleaner and more consistent, and a lot of this has to do with Jeffmont's professional fitting. I highly recommend seeing these guys if you are serious about being fit properly.

To play your best your clubs must fit, getting the proper shaft length and lie angle is critical.

Everyone has an optimal golf club fit that facilitates a biomechanically efficient motion resulting in a balanced and powerful swing from address to impact to follow-through.

Discovering your optimum fit relies on two key factors that are unique for each player and based on your physical dimensions.

Two key factors:
1. Height of the golf club off of the ground:  The distance from the ground to the top of the grip.
2. Ball spacing:  The distance from the ball to where your hands hang vertically at address.

One size does not fit all!

The “one size fits all” approach is used by most major club manufacturers.  Golf is tough enough, but with clubs that are not proportionally and dynamically tailored to you make the sport even more difficult.  Poorly fit clubs prevent you from making your best golf swings.

The few manufacturers that offer fitting do not complete it effectively.  The club head lie angle is not balanced with the shaft length and therefore it results in compromised posture and incorrect ball spacing (shown below).

Exceptionally knowledgeable and friendly staff. I took my set of 5 year old irons/wedges in to inquire about getting them fit for my body/swing. I'm a bit taller than average. When I bought my clubs from one of the larger retailers they sold me on a set of +1 irons, took my money and sent me out the door. At Redbird, their fitting system showed that I really needed even longer clubs, as well as thicker grips. During the custom fitting process they re-adjusted the loft/lie of the clubs to match the increased length. It's like I have a brand new set of clubs! I've never been able to consistently hit my irons as pure as I am now. I am no longer 'fighting' my natural swing. I would highly recommend to anyone and everyone.

Unbelievable the difference when the clubs are fit correctly. I immediately started hitting good shots with feel. I highly recommend any golfer wanting to improve their game to visit Jay at Redbird!

I have visited twice and left impressed both times. Despite being "fit" by another retailer, I always felt that my irons were too long for me. This was confirmed during my first visit to Jeffmont last summer - after being sized with their special system, it was determined that the irons were indeed at least an inch too long. Brandon adjusted them and I have been extremely happy as my accuracy greatly improved and they just feel perfect.
